Whisky Trip 09/01/2011
For those people who know, the Whisky A Go-Go is a world famous Venue in LA on the sunset strip. Matty and I were privileged enough to be able to go to LA and perform here! It was such an enormous sense of accomplishment to see our names on the Marquee and know that such famous bands have had their names there as well as being able to perform on such a storied stage! Of course Matty and I shut it down and made some awesome connects while we were down there! 1 Comment Lifes Never Promised 12/01/2010
This past week was such a blur to me, On Wednesday, my Grandmother Mary Alice McCormick lost her life. She was 86. She had so many ailments at the time of her passing that it was hard to know what exactly was the cause of her passing. Some of the things that I remember most about her was that no matter what happened between my mother and my Biological father, she was always there. I can remember exactly 2 times in my life where my Bio dad ever came around, but I CAN count the number of times that Gramma was there. She came to visit, she remembered birthdays/holidays and always had a Smile that could light up the world. We moved to Oregon when I was a Freshman and I really didn't talk to her a lot once we moved out here. Upon being re-introduced to my sister, I called Gramma a few months ago. I'm glad I did, She wasn't in poor health yet, her memory was still good and we were able to talk about things up till that point in our lives. So take the time to remember the ones around you daily. For ya never know if tomorrow comes or not!! Oh yeah! That's my sister....from a while ago! Also this past week, I found out my mother in law has been diagnosed with Cancer. It has been an emotional week for the entire family for sure!! She is starting a lot of testing to see where she is at with everything and will move forward with what the doctors tell her the best course of action is. We as a family would like you to keep the family in your prayers and send your best wishes that she will come out of this with her head held high. The Balance of Life CD Release Party 09/21/2010
![]() My CD Release was September 11th, and after much to do with the Replication and the sound sytem....it went down. Big Greg started off the night with his beat boxing (check out this video Big Greg Beat boxing video) Matty went onstage next and dropped his set with both new material as well as the Favorites Fresh Coastin and I'm home. Skeptikal came out with the North Next crew and knocked out his set with one of my favorite tracks "Crazy Chicks" He definitely smashed it!! North Next's LevelHeaded (Sole Pro and Fluent) came up next and absolutely smashed their set. (Sole Pro track "Legacy") Braille and Gabby came out and started their set. Braille was ready to rock the set, but Gabby was more interested in singing into the mirror on the stage. Braille pushed forward and rocked an amazing set. Some of my favorite song were done, "Revenge the right way", "Blessed Man" and "Resurrect me". Dain came up to do his thing (Dain's Myspace)...Dain and I are both from Louisiana, so it was nice to get that 504 area code up in the 503. Dain's set was super dope! I'd have Dain on any show down here he want's to be on!!! ya'll make sure and cop his Triple L album....Its fire! I came on stage with Bingo and away we went. We pushed through 8 or so songs before we took a small break so I could tell everyone the story of the death of Raymond Aguilera and the events leading up to the recording of "Pictures of the Past" as well as presented the mother with a plaque of the album. It was a very emotional experience for me and Bingo. We are so grateful to have been a part of getting Ray's music out for the world to hear!!1 We finished the night off with our west coast track "Right Now". The night was so amazing and I would like to wish everyone who came out, performed or bought the CD a HUGE thank you...We'll perform Pictures of the past at all our shows to help keep Rays memory alive Young Buck Show 07/21/2010

Twista Show 03/30/2010
So a quick recap on the Twista show from last night. Myself, Matty and MacSmiff went onstage last night. We arrived in Eugene around 6pm last night for sound check....Let me translate slowly how this went down... Some of us performers were there waiting for sound check, the Blueprint was putting speakers in boxes and running cables and all that. We sat around introducing ourselves to the performers who didn't know each other. Myself, MacSmiff and Matty were sitting in the corner watching some other random performers when a LARGE group of Black gentleman the size of small Giants walked into the room. The largest of the group walked up to the Mic and says to us "If your not in the 2pistols camp, you need to leave. We only do closed sound checks" Of course no one moved. This guy repeated his self then it was obvious that Twista wanted closed door session. We all went out into the Lobby and hung out for like 30 minutes before the 1st sound ever went through a speaker. The security absolutely tore the Blueprint up..searching every nook and cranny for ....something. After the building had been gone over repeatedly...Twista made his way through back door to his sound check. He may have been on stage just a couple of minutes when he was whisked right back out the building! We once again were allowed back in the building for our sound checks like 50 minutes before the doors were suppose to OPEN. The 3 of us did our sound check first...running through our opening song. We wanted to go over all the tracks but were basically pulled off stage so next group could go on. After the sound checks were complete, the waiting game ensued. Our time on stage kept being pushed back....every few minutes the sound guy came over to tell me that we were going on 5 minutes later....I think all in all we went on 20 minutes later then we were supposed to. The lights went out and Mr DOG went onstage to introduce the first act. They never said their name nor was it on the Flier, but a trio of young'ns. They did their thing with a lot of side talking to crowd. See we were informed we had 15 minutes on stage and talking counted in that time frame. So account for it. They didn't! Before starting their last song, their time ran out and their music was faded out. They were pissed....guess they should learn to read the fine print!!!! Myself, Matty and MacSmiff were at the stairs to go on....it was our time!! We made it onstage with DJ Fat Boy on the tables for us! From the minute the first beat started, the crowd was feeling it. We ran through our songs and ended our Set with MacSmiff's "They Don't Want It". The crowd was so Dope! When we left the stage Mr. DOG came on stage and KEPT saying they don't want it in the mic..... After our set, people came up to us and bought cd's, shots lol and inquired how to get more merch from us......Such a good look for the three of us and honestly, I'm glad I blew the stage up with these two dope cats!! The rest of the night went ok....Technical difficulties plagued others sets.(Learn to burn your disks properly...Just saying) and others brought 20 people to the stage to dance around with them. Others just got on stage and were unprofessional.... And after much anticipation from the crowd.....Twista came out and put on QUITE the show! It was an awesome evening that will go down as one of my dopest evenings in my life..... | ArchivesSeptember 2011 Categories |
